On Cunningham Hill...
Here
is a period style house you will be comfortable in. Modeled on 18th
century Dutch prototypes this gambrel roof colonial style home has a
pine paneled fireplace wall in a large living room, immaculately
finished pine board floors, naturally finished molded pine trim,
central hall and stairway.
Yet it has all the contemporary conveniences: an invitingly
large
kitchen replete with cherry cabinetwork, granite countertops, large
island with glass cooktop, large refrigerator/freezer, double wall
ovens and dishwasher (all stainless steel). Out the double door is the
morning breakfast patio, on the other side, the evening dinner patio.
Up-to-date bathrooms with granite, tile and sparkling fixtures. The
dining room overlooks flower beds and extensive lawns, the woods as
backdrop. There is one more room which you will purpose to your liking
as library, family room, or office.
Upstairs is a
large master bedroom suite with private bathroom, two
other bedrooms and ample closets. A three-bay attached garage has an
apartment above with kitchen area and bathroom, finish to your own
design.
But that is
not all. If someone in your family has a yen for riding,
the property comes with two horse barns, fenced full-size riding arena
and pasture. The main barn is built in the Dutch style with
gable-end entrances and long sloping roof which works well for a
central aisle, four box stalls and tack room with saddle racks and
bridle hooks. The loft can handle 600+ bales of hay. The
smaller
barn also has four box stalls. Want to meet others? This is
the
region of the Old Chatham Hunt Club and there is a World Class trainer
a short hack away. Not into horses yet? You now have
appropriately-looking secure storage on your own property. Or a
workshop or studio.
And there is
more. Cunningham Hill is in the township of Canaan in
northeast Columbia County. This is really convenient for getting to ski
slopes, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, summer stock theater, museums and
so many other pleasures in adjacent (the other end of Cunningham Hill
Road) Berkshire County. Saratoga is within an hour; the
Capital
District and much of Columbia County are within a half hour.
A
bonus - you have lake rights to spring-fed Queechy Lake for boating,
swimming and sunning. And you are not far from the Taconic
Parkway to NYC. You can't be more convenient for all these attractions.
